The Lego Saturn V that released on June 1 has 1,969 pieces - the same year that the vehicle put men on the moon.

I read somewhere that they removed 4 pieces from the stands to make it 1969 as the final design had a few more.

I've started building it and the attention to detail is fantastic. The blocks are printed rather than stickers and the assembly instructions are just beautiful as is the book. Going to keep them as part of the display in my office they are that nice.

What's the msrp? Also is it limited edition I kinda wanna get one?

Yeah the book has some history in it. If you're into Legos or NASA, highly recommend this set. It's a beautiful set and just seeing the way Lego engineered this rocket to be able to break apart at the correct points and be structurally sound is amazing.

I'm DYING to get my hands on the set. I can't find it anywhere - except on Amazon for thrice the price.

We built it the other night, I'm impressed how NOT heavy it is, love it!

That's funny. I've heard from others who have built it that there were many spots that used bricks smaller than necessary to build the rocket itself.

How much did it set you back?

I really noticed the details of the build when the fuel and LOX tanks were built rather than just having the part that would be seen. I think they should've broke building tradition and labeled parts bags in reverse order (10, 9, 8, etc.) to mimic countdown, practically trash since they didn't. /s

I ended up with around 1996 pieces. There's lots of extras.

No fucking way, they didn't use stickers?! This just went from a "maybe" buy to a must-buy!

If they really wanted to give a nod to NASA they'd supply enough spare pieces to build a second rocket.
